One of our most creative services is creating space. Everyone can use more space. In older homes closet space is scarce. Here are some examples of space that we have created for clients. (click on any picture to enlarge it)
The picture on the left is a new closet we built for a client because her original closet was turned into a second bathroom (below). In the second picture can you guess which closet is 50 years old and which one is brand new? If you guessed the closet on the right is new - you are right. In the third picture we created a walk-in closet in the master bedroom of another client's home, complete with lights and insulated access to the knee-wall crawl space.
Here is that original closet that our client wanted turned into a second bathroom, complete with a built-in vanity, plenty of storage space and forced hot water heat.
In older homes small closets were popular standards. They provided space and access to the plumbing. You will always find one in the hall with its back to the tub faucets. But they could be anywhere - in the kitchen, the hallways and bathrooms. They have 5 or 6 fixed shelves and we pile as much as we can into these spaces (never to be seen again). Here is another great solution for our clients - full extension drawer boxes. Now you have complete access to everything in these closets, whether it be a kitchen pantry or a upstairs linen closet.
